BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy 2004, Diploma in injection therapy, Acupuncture, pilates – matwork and reformer.
Background:
Amy has a wealth of knowledge and experience treating musculoskeletal and orthopaedic conditions and sports injuries having worked as an Advanced Physiotherapy practitioner in Health centres, Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and private clinics in Edinburgh
Note from Amy:
My approach involves looking at the whole person considering all factors that may be contributing towards their pain or physical limitations. The ultimate goal is to help them return to what they want or need to do whatever their age or ability.
We will work together to understand your movement patterns, work/life environment, underlying conditions and motivations to enable recovery from injury or surgery. The focus of rehabilitation is to reduce pain, reduce any fears of movement and regulate the neuromuscular system to prepare your body to be strong to do the job you need it to do. Treatment is holistic combining conventional physio techniques including massage, soft tissue, and joint mobilisation and acupuncture (where appropriate) with strengthening exercise including pilates to prevent recurrence and cure your problem.
